The Teton Range is an Alpine Flower Paradise

Unlikely juxtapositions, this I remember vividly in the Tetons. Deep, cool canyons full of forests and the sounds of rushing waters, then as one hikes upward toward the alpine regions like Alaska Basin, there are vast open paradises of waving flowers.. Below, Grand Teton itself rises to nearly 14,000 feet into the pure blue Wyoming sky.

Below is an image from along the Death Canyon Shelf, which lies in the area of the range south of the Grand Teton. The trail along the Shelf is one of my absolute mountain favorites among the great high mountain walks of America. I name this image "White Flowers Big Moon"
